Rescue on Camelback Mountain

This is the second mountain rescue that the Phoenix Fire Department has done in the past 24 hours.

Right now rescue crews are at Camelback Mountain making their way up the trails to locate an adult hiker who has injured their ankle.

Rescue Update:

Crews located the patient approximately 100 yards from the summit of the mountain. Firebird 9 was utilized to fly the injured hiker off the mountain. Transportation was refused by the patient and all crews are safely off the mountain.

Rescue on South Mountain

Last night Phoenix Fire crews were on scene at South Mountain Park to rescue an injured hiker. Reports came in stating the hiker slipped and injured their ankle.

Firefighters used a “Big Wheel” operation to extricate the patient off the mountain.

At the base of the mountain, the patient loaded into an ambulance and transported to a nearby hospital.

All crews are safely off the mountain
