Meet Stella Bella
TYPE: Staffordshire Bull Terrier & Boxer
CHARACTERISTICS: dedicated, smart, grateful, affectionate, survivor, loving, athletic
COAT LENGTH: Short
HOUSE-TRAINED: Yes
HEALTH: Vaccinations up to date, spayed/neutered.
GOOD IN A HOME WITH: Children.
PREFERS A HOME WITHOUT: Other dogs.
This sweet gal has had a rough past, but she is learning to thrive with love and structure. Meet our Stella Bella! Stella was living as a stray for months.
When volunteers first spotted her, she was thin as a rail and would dart from the kind hands who tried to help. It was not until a trap was set and a hungry Stella would circling the trap, still too timid to enter. After weeks of monitoring the trap, in the early morning of a hot August night, Stella was finally humanely trapped.
It was at that time that we learned that Stella’s tail had been recently chopped off. The cruelty at the hands of a monster was brutal and Stella needed immediate care. Stella had surgery to remove and clean up what was left of her chopped off tail and as her body was healing, her emotional insecurities became our focus.
Fast forward to today, Stella is full of life and energy. She enjoys long walks, playtime with her bone but most of all snuggles with her humans. Stella is looking for a patient family that can provide her with continued confidence-building with her manners, the exercise she needs, and love.
Stella knows to sit and shake, is potty trained, walks beautifully on a leash, and is learning to enjoy her outings in a car. Stella is also crate trained. Stella takes a little time to trust new humans she meets, but quickly warms up and will give many hugs and kisses.
Wherever you go, Stella wants to go with you. Stella’s perfect forever family includes one with no small children and no other pets at this time. Maybe one day Stella can have another dog in her life, but at this time, we feel strongly she be an only pet and her people continue to provide the love and support that she needs and desires.
Stella is young, perhaps 1.5 years. She has put on weight and she is no longer in any pain. All she needs is a safe environment that allows her to give a ton of kisses and continues to set her up for success.
