Mom’s Famous Jalapeno Cheese Ball
Mom’s Famous Jalapeno Cheese Ball recipe is filled with all of your favorite jalapeno popper flavors like zesty minced jalapenos, sharp cheddar, smooth cream cheese, and onion rolled into balls covered in diced pecans. You can optionally incorporate chives, corn, bacon bits, and garlic.

Mom’s Famous Jalapeno Cheese Ball
Ingredients
- 3 cups Mexican Style Cheese shredded
- 3 cups Sharp Chedder Cheese shredded
- 8 oz Cream Cheese
- 1 cup Onion chopped
- 2 cup Jalapeno chopped
- 1 cup Pecans chopped
Instructions
- Place all of the cheese, onions and jalapenos into a mixing bowl and combine.
- After mixing, form into medium balls and roll in chopped nuts.
- Refrigerate at least one hour. Serve with chips.
The name jalapeño is Spanish for “from Xalapa” (also spelled Jalapa), the capital city of Veracruz, Mexico, where the pepper was traditionally cultivated. The name Xalapa is itself of Nahuatl origin, formed from roots xālli “sand” and āpan “water place”.
