SDA Announces Partnership with Sprouts Farmers Market

On Friday, Sun Devil Athletics (SDA) and Sun Devil Partnerships announced a two-year partnership with Sprouts Farmers Market through the 2021-22 athletic year.

The partnership will assist in the build-out of the Sun Devil Sports Nutrition department by supplying products to benefit the health and nutrition of all 26 sports programs and 600-plus student-athletes.

“We are extremely excited about our new partnership with Sprouts, which will be of significant benefit to our student-athletes,” said Sun Devil Athletics’ Senior Associate Athletic Director Ken Landphere. “In addition, Sprouts is not only a high-quality comprehensive nutrition provider, but their ultra-positive outlook, energy, and resourcefulness make them an excellent culture fit.”

In addition to supplying the Sun Devil Sports Performance Nutrition Bar, the partnership will also benefit the Phoenix Municipal Stadium Nutrition Bar as well to provide two fully-stocked nutrition stations for the student-athletes.

“Providing our student-athletes high-quality nutrition to support their training and recovery is a top priority,” said Amber Yudell, Director of Sun Devil Athletics’ Sports Nutrition. “Teaming up with Sprouts to get this done is a natural decision. We are so excited about this partnership to enhance how we operate, such as in our new Nutrition Bar at Sun Devil Sports Performance, and to create new opportunities to grow.”

This is the first time Sun Devil Athletics and Sprouts have formed a partnership, and further develops the department’s dedication to not only mental and physical health but nutritional health in Sun Devil student-athletes.

Sprouts Farmers Market was originally developed and begun as a homegrown grocer out of Chandler and is headquartered in Phoenix. The grocer offers a wide selection of natural and organic foods, including fresh produce, bulk foods, vitamins, and gluten-free foods.
