Leela is our Pet of the Day. She is a medium-size adult female Basenji & Staffordshire Bull Terrier Mix.

Meet Leela
Where to begin….. let’s start with humans: humans have let her down! When you meet this sweet, beautiful, happy, fun girl and think that she was adopted out four times over the years and ended back at the shelter, you will ask: why?? Leela ended back at the shelter last month for the last time as we went and scooped her up.
Leela was on the county E-list with a date set for her to be euthanized. Those who had daily contact with her helped spread the word that she is in need of love (as are all shelter dogs) but just needed to be placed in a home that would allow her to succeed.
Leela needs to be an only dog — it is that simple. She is incredibly insecure around dogs and often can be aggressive towards them. So, this time around, when she goes to her forever home, it will be understood that she is an only pet.
There are millions of dogs in loving homes that are just like Leela, an only pet! She DOES NOT react when she sees another dog on a walk and she does wonderful on a leash. She loves to go on car rides, play ball, do zoomies in the back yard, and snuggle. She loves kids and all humans. She needs to be in a home that will set her up to succeed, and in return, the love and companionship will fill each room.
She is approximately five years old and very active. She is extremely smart and will thrive with a family that has a routine that allows her to settle into.
